Review of Diablo 3 Billionaire guide

Is Diablo 3 billionaire worth it? I review it

The market for guides to Diablo 3 is huge and it can be a jungle. So I decided to take the plunge for you and check out one of the most talked about guides so far: The Diablo 3 billionaire

What's in the guide?

The guide is pretty much access to a member's only area which is constantly updated. There are guides for everything, while some of it is a bit lackluster, but what is good, is really good. The guides can be split up in three sections: -Leveling -Farming guides -AH strategies

D3 Billionaire - the leveling part

This is the weakest part of the guide. It is very basic stuff about what the different skills do, what are the good stats for your class and an overview of the interface and runthroughs of the different quests and boss fights. A lot of time hasn't been spent here, and thank god for that. Diablo 3 isn't known for its difficulty at the lower levels. It is pretty much a rail road hack and slash action RPG, so most of the time you can usually only run one way. So a guide to the "story" is pretty much useless. So the leveling in Diablo 3 bilionaire is only of use to the absolute beginners. The boss fight videos are pretty kewl, once you hit Inferno. Here skill might actually make a difference, so it is good to know how to progress against a boss. I give this 4/10

MF and GF farming sections

Now we get to the more meaty parts of the site. Here you have your standard farming runs with good written guides and maps. While the routes aren't that innovative, it is very good to have all of them in one place. One thing that is really good in the farming parts of the Diablo 3 billionaire guide, is that the different farming runs have a difficulty attached to them. This makes for a quick sorting of which run to do today. This section isn't anything new, if you have followed the farming scene for a while. But again, it is very nice to have all of the different sections in one place, so you save time. I give this part of the D3 billioniare site 7 out of 10.

The AH strategies section of the D3 Billionare site

This is where the majority of the time on the site has been spent. There are a lot of strategies both on the RMAH and the gold AH. The great thing about this section of the site, is that the strategies start right at the bottom of the ladder, so you can slowly build up your fortune. There are strats for fortunes ranging from 100k to several millions and all of them are solid. If you are interested in boosting your AH presence and starting to dominate the AH, then you might be interested in getting the guide. Again, you might be able to figure out these strategies eventually, but spending the 40 bucks on this guide, will save you much wasted time on the AH, so if you are the least interested in optimizing your online time, then it is money well spent. If you are interested to know more about this guide, check out Diablo 3 farmings Diablo 3 billionaire review. He does a great job of giving a very detailed and honest review of the guide. So if you have a doubts about spending money on the Diablo 3 billionaire guide, then check out his site.

Demonbuddy and the rest of the botting scene in D3

Botting in D3-Demonbuddy and friends

Demonbuddy and the other bots in Diablo 3 are a PITA, that can’t be eradicated. Running bots is incredibly easy, takes little once it is up and the rewards can be huge, especially with gold selling in the RMAH a reality. But what to do if you are interested? Just how hard is it to bot?

Demonbuddy – The pack leader

Diablo 3 farming wrote a piece on bots, including Demonbuddy. I got my attention drawn to this piece of software by Diablo 3 farming, who did an article on Demonbuddy . The company that makes demon buddy, also wrote the very successful honor buddy bot in WOW and now they have released their version of a bot for Diablo 3. Like with any recently acquired tool, there is a learning curve, although easily done. Setting it up can be easily done, and although stability has been an issue, they are working on it, but overall it’s a pretty sweet piece of kit. Demonbuddybot doesn’t tamper with the code, it’s much harder to get busted by Warden.

Immortal Bot – the hardcore bot

Immortal bot is the dark sheep of the bots. This bot alters the game in a very intrusive fashion, so to get the most out of it you must have it running all the time until you get banned, which is going to happen. The biggest benefit to having an injecting bot, is that it can read the whole map before it is revealed, it sees mobs off the screen, and it can bypass the 10 second log out! Farming something like Dank Cellar, going 10 seconds faster of a 30 second run makes a huge difference in the overall gold per hour.

Autoit, the easy option for fast botting in Diablo 3

AutoIT is used to automate mouse moves and keyboard clicks on the PC and can also be used for Diablo 3. Downloading a program like MacroGamer enables you to easily set up a quick script for farming static areas like chest spawns. Like DemonBuddy it doesn't inject, but rather copies and replays keystrokes, so it is very unlikely to get you banned.

Closing thoughts - Demonbuddy takes the prize

Taking a quick look at the bots on the market, Demon Buddy comes out ahead. It has a great interface, easy to bot Diablo 3 with and the support and community is pretty great.

Fast track leveling in D3

Leveling fast in Diablo 3

Although Diablo 3 isn’t focused on completing quests and leveling a character, but more on finding loot, gear and items, you still have to level. Some like leveling, while others most certainly don’t. No matter whether you like leveling or not, it never hurts to be able to level fast and efficiently. This is very much the case when you are leveling your second, third or fourth character.

Leveling fast in Diablo 3 by bypassing content

One way of leveling fast in D3 is to skip or bypass content to finish quests and finish the story. This makes sense, when you think about it. You do get large chunks of experience for completing key parts of the questline and you usually won’t be behind the curve level wise, so mobs shouldn’t be a problem.Getting to higher level mobs, also means you will be able to get more xp for killing a mob. So the mobs might be a couple of levels higher than before, but can still be killed with ease. All this means you move up the leveling curve faster and level up faster. However, you mustn’t forget, that mobs = experience and the best way of leveling fast is most of the time by exploring the whole map. Not so much as to farm champion and elite packs in Diablo 3, but more to get the experience points they have. Downing a champion or elite pack usually means a hefty leveling bonus and some great loot farming.

Leveling fast in Diablo 3 by clearing the map

The method I use involves starting out with the mindset of clearing the whole map, by sweeping round the sides of the map all the way around. This is especially a smart move on the more open-ended maps in act 1, act 2 and to some extent in act 3. By doing this, we won’t have to backtrack. This takes time and you don’t get xp, because you don’t farm mobs. Once I have started out across a map with the intent of clearing it, if I complete parts of the quest and I can move on in the questline, I do. Getting to the fat chunks of XP in a storyline quickly, should always be your overall goal.

Buying +experience items to level fast in Diablo 3

This is the fastest way to level in D3. If you focus on getting +experience items, you get a big piece of experience each time you kill a mob. You do this a lot in D3, so imagine having +150 to experience and wiping a map. How many mobs did you slay? 100? 200? That’s 15,000+ free experience points. If you focus on +experience items and continually upgrade your gear with a second eye on your main stat, you can expect a huge chunk of free XP just for clearing a map. Don’t forget to gear up your follower with these items as well, because you will gain 20% of however much he has on. So if you gear him up to have +50 to experience, you will get an extra +10 experience per kill. This will really speed up your leveling in Diablo 3 and now having to clear a map isn’t such a big PITA. Now it is just free XP and super fast leveling! Using your D3 jeweler – Covetous Shen – to make money

The crafting system in Diablo 3 is very basic. There are two artisans, or crafters, that work for you. You have the Jeweler, Covetous Shen, who makes gems and removes gems from weapons, armor and items. Then you have the Blacksmith, Haedrig Eamon, for crafting materials. You find the D3blacksmith, Haedrig Eamon, in Act 1, where there is a quest for his wife. That does not end well, but he does agree to helping you out. You find the D3jeweler, Covetous Shen, in Act 2 down in the sewers. Oddly enough he also agrees to help you out!

Leveling Covetous Shen – the D3 jeweler

Both the Diablo 3blacksmith and the Diablo 3jeweler have 10 levels and they are quite costly to raise to max level. To level up your artisans you require a lot of gold. The jeweler takes 10,000 gold to level up each level from level 1-7 and then level 8 costs 20,000 gold, level 9 costs 30,000 and the last level 10 costs 40,000. In total it will cost you 140,000 gold to level up from 1 to 10. In addition to it costing gold, it will also require pages and tomes to level up. It will cost you 20 pages of jewel crafting, 20 tomes of jewel crafting, and finally 40 tomes of secrets to reach level 10. The pages of jewel crafting drop in Nightmare difficulty, the tomes of jewelcrafting drop in Hell difficulty and finally the tomes of secrets drop in Inferno. These can be bought in the AH cheaply right now.

Farm or buy jewelcrafting recipes to make the big piles of Diablo 3 gold

In order to be able to make money, you will need to get some of the higher level recipes in order to be able to combine gems to a level higher. It takes 3 gems of a lower level, to form one of a higher level. Gems also drop as loot when you are out farming for gold and money, but the max level of gems that drop is Flawless Square. Flawless Square gives +19% Gold find, Experience, Magic find or 12% extra life and +34 to stats all depending on the chosen color. Over this level of gems, you need recipes for your jeweler in order for him to be able to make better and better gems. These jeweler/jewelcrafting recipes drop on the higher difficulties or you could just buy them on the AH and farm the gold instead

Make money on your jeweler in Diablo 3

Gems of Flawless Square level and lower drop as loot, and since the gems don’t have durability, they will stay in the economy and slowly flood it. Because it is such a PITA to level your artisans, few people will bother with that. However, people will still want gem upgrades, even if it is only marginal upgrades we are talking about. Therefore, you will make gold and money by giving people what they want and allowing them to be lazy! You will make your money by buying up flawless square gems and combining them to form higher level perfect square gems, radiant square, and star gems. Because flawless square gems are mob drops from farming runs, supply will be high and they will be cheap. Since everything above this is crafted, it will be increasingly more rare and thus fetch a much better price.

Socketing with your D3 jeweler

Right now crafted sockets are not in the game, but Blizzard will most likely put it in the game at some point. By having a max level jeweler, you will be ready to make money by socketing items, socketing weapons and socketing armor once it is implemented. Be sure to check out Diablo 3 farming for crafting and farming tips Check out our friends at Diablo 3 money making for info

For farming and leveling, what is the best class in Diablo 3?

What is the best class for leveling in D3?

Well, I logged in to the game and have played a nice session of 4-5 hours. I am not used to gaming for that long, so I can't go all day! Leveled a monk class up to level 13 and I must say that it is more or less easy-mode. Of course Blizzard have said, that normal difficulty is more of a tutorial to the game, so I am looking forward to the remaining levels. Anyway, right now it does feel like monk is easy to level and with the paladin follower specced for support, we are destroying everything! I have always been a fan of defense over DPS, because you can't level when you are dead! So I have gone for a debuffer, defense monk build, that still does decent DPS. The monk goes up against almost everything if you pay a bit of attention to your health and your heal rotation. The different classbuilds you can do, and how the different weapons interact with your skills are very interesting, and I am not worried at all, that we will only see cookie cutter builds at level 60. With all the different gear, runes, skills and followers we will see a lot of varied valid builds.

No raiding means there is no best class for farming and leveling!

Seeing as max group size is 4 and the fact that there is no raiding, you can run any build and class you wish. You don't have to optimize your build to compensate for lack of knowledge or gear in an encounter, because with only 4 people those kinds of margins gained aren't very impressive. Spec however you want to and to have fun. I very much enjoy a high survivability monk with a support-specced follower and that is the best build for leveling and the best build for farming for me.

Leoric's shinbone and other easter eggs

Leoric's shinbone is a charm you can find in Leoric's manor. It's just a nice little piece of fluff, you find in Leoric's manor in the chamber to the right in the fireplace. It doesn't do anything, but it is a nod to the lore. Other than that, the banter between your followers is really well done and very enjoyable. I won't spoil it here, but be sure to pay attention to them.

Buying low, selling high, making money by playing both the gold AH and the money AH in D3

On any markets there will be movement up and down. These cycles vary in length: during the day, week, month and year. Knowing this already puts you ahead of the curve, but how do you act on it? Well, basically you buy low and sell high. The problem is, how low is low and how high is high? In D3 there are transaction costs and to quickly reiterate: Items will cost you a dollar to list (on a successful auction) and then you pay 15% to transfer to Paypal or nothing to transfer to your e-balance. Your e-balance is for buying Blizzard items and for buying on the real money AH. Commodities will cost you 15% to Blizzard (if your auction is successful) and then you pay another 15% to transfer to Paypal or nothing to transfer to e-balance.

Make money working the AH

Now we can start the mathing! If you sell gold for 100$ you will pay 15% to Blizzard, taking you from 100$ to 85$, and then 15% to Paypal, taking you from 85$ to 72.25$. So if you sell gold for 100$ you end up paying 27.75$ in transaction fees. This also means we are paying 27.75% in transaction costs. In order to make money on the gold we just sold, we need to have bought it for less than 72.25$ to have made any gold on it. If you bought it for 70$, sold it for 100$ and paid 27.75$ to transfer it out, you would have made 2.25$ in profit. That’s stupidly low for the risk you are taking! Bear in mind that all the way up to where you sell at around 100$, you are in the red and stand to lose money instead of making money! To put it another way: if you intend to flip gold, the selling price has to be 38.4% more than your buying price. If you buy at 72.25$, you need to sell at 100$, which is 38.4% more. If you buy at 100$, you need to sell at 138.4$ and so on. There will be cycles in the markets, and this is also the case in Diablo 3, but the only time you will see this much difference, is when someone fucks up and sells too low. This also means that the amounts of gold we are talking, won’t be very large.

How about buying directly from the grey/black market?

Hitting the grey/black scene and purchasing directly from the gold farmers could be an option. If they sell straight to you, they pay way less transaction fees and can then sell their gold cheaper. But they won’t be selling at less than 72.25% of the gold price on the official real money AH. If they did this, they might as well sell on the AH and get a larger market. If you are offered a price under 72.25%, you need to be really, really careful. Especially if it is from someone you don’t normally use and the price is extremely low. If the goldfarmers suddenly start dropping prices massively, they have found a dupe and are flooding the markets with duped gold. Blizzard will be all over this, since their way of monetizing the game is through the real money AH. If people suddenly start selling nothing for something, then the bottom drops out of the market and inflation runs rampant.
